Exploring the City's October Events, One Sip at a Time

October feels like the proper kickoff for the fall season. Statistically it's people's favorite month of the year! From events like pumpkin patches, Oktoberfest to Halloween, there is something for everyone this month. Let's take a look at just some of the events happening this month!

​Reoccurring Events Happening All Month Long:

• Dread Hollow. If heart palpitations and being in a constant state of fight or flight is your sense of entertainment then this haunted house adventure is just for you. Click here to grab your tickets! 
• PROST! Rock City celebrates its German heritage every Saturday and Sunday throughout October. The area’s premiere German festival offers live German music along with specialty German food. So not only can you enjoy seeing the natural beauty of Rocky City and the views of Chattanooga (and Kentucky, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama) 
• Shakespeare in the Park returns to Greenway Farm in Hixson this October with The Winter’s Tale. The Bard’s riveting romance play is a classic story of jealousy and redemption across 16 years. The Winter’s Tale weaves tragedy and comedy into a fairytale with plenty of disguises, a lost princess, and the famous stage direction “exit, pursued by a bear.” Free admission, but reservations are required! ​​
• One of our favorite lunchtime breaks, Noontunes is a free lunchtime concert series. On Broad Street every Friday come out and enjoy local vendors, food trucks, live music and themed activities. The street party will take place from Aquarium Way to High Point Climbing Gym in the 2nd block of Broad Street! Happening all month long, come out and enjoy your lunch with some tunes!
• By lamplight you'll go! This after-hours special edition Lantern Tour features ghost stories from the 94-year history of Ruby Falls and eerie Chattanooga legends. On the way to the waterfall, hear the tales and visit the sites of peculiar encounters, mischievous mayhem, and tragedy while exploring the cavern with a guide by the light of handheld lanterns. 
  
  
  

October Events:

• Thursday October 12th: Get ready for glitz and glam! Inspired by artworks and artists in Gilded: Contemporary Artists Explore Value and Worth, this gilded fashion show features local models of color styled by Chery Jordan and a conversation about the themes in the exhibit. 
• Friday October 13th: The Fourth Annual Chattanooga Motorcar Festival, sponsored by Millennium Bank and Ferrari of Atlanta from October 13-15, 2023, will benefit The Neuroscience Center at CHI Memorial and the Neuroscience Innovation Foundation of Chattanooga. 
• The Chattanooga Zoo’s annual Boo in the Zoo is Friday the 13th! This a family-friendly celebration filled with merry-not-scary decorations, trick-or-treat stations, scavenger hunt, costume show, and more! Hours for this weekend event are 4pm - 8pm, with timed entry tickets available online only! Perfect for the whole family, costumes encouraged! 
• Saturday October 14th, prepare to "Let it Burn!" Get ready for an electrifying evening of art, music, and unforgettable moments at the Fire up the Fields, where we're igniting the night at Sculpture Fields concluding with "The Burn" that can only be experienced in-person!
• Thursday October 19th, this event is for the adults only! Our annual community favorite is back, Boo'z in the Zoo with spooky fun for those 21 and up! Get ready for trick-or-treat stations, themed enrichment, Halloween decorations, a costume contest, and a haunted carousel ride. Don’t miss out on a scary good night!
• Saturday's are for the Witches and Warlocks! On the 21st prepare to paddle out with the best of them! This paddle event is open to kayaks, canoes and stand up paddleboards as we take over the Tennessee River dressed as witches, warlocks, and wizards.
